Our club had the pleasure of inducting our 12th member at our July 31st luncheon meeting at the Larchmont Yacht Club. President Lester Nathan began the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance, the Four-Way Test and general news. Special guests included: DG Maksud Chowdhury and his wife Shamim Begum, AG Sandy Wolstein, Mary Springman (Bronx), Libby Hollahan (White Plains) and Bill Taufig (Bedford-Armonk).
After the opening ceremony, the induction of our new member, Phyllis Sloate, began. Membership Chairman Michael Gedigk conducted the ceremony and DG Chowdhury presented her with her Rotary pin. President Nathan made a short speech and gave her a membership certificate.
We are pleased to welcome Phyllis, who was very happy and pleased to join our club. She lives in New Rochelle and has been a psychoanalyst for many years. Phyllis was married to our former club treasurer, Alan.
During and after lunch, our members and guests continued the roundtable discussion from the last meeting about Rotary membership, how to increase its value and ways to find new members.
Guests are welcome at the club's bi-monthly meetings, which are held at the Larchmont Yacht Club and on Zoom. Those interested in becoming a member of our club should contact a club officer or visit our website (larchmontrotary.org).
