The Larchmont & New Rochelle Rotary team participated for the fourth time in the annual Alzheimer’s Association - Westchester County Walk to End Alzheimer’s on October 5th. The Walk’s main purpose is to raise funds and awareness for Alzheimer's care, support and research.

Well over a thousand people from all over the county came to the Valhalla campus of SUNY Westchester Community College on a warm and sunny afternoon. This year, there was a noticeable increase in participation by Rotary clubs from Westchester and the Bronx. Our team used emails, Facebook and telephone calls to raise money. Despite our team's small size, $7,700 has been raised so far.
Our team contained seven members who did the walk: Barbara Crane, Dave Biskup, Therese Biskup, Lester Nathan, Marion Anderson, Alex Vo and Mitch Weisburgh. After various speeches, the team walked the mile and three-quarters course around the WCC campus.

The Alzheimer's Association® is the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer's care, support and research. Its mission is to lead the way to end Alzheimer's and all other dementia — by accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and support.
Thanks once again go to Westchester Walk Director Esther McCarthy of the Alzheimer’s Association NY Chapter for helping us with fund raising. Donations can still be made until December 31st at our team’s webpage, click on this link.
