District 7230 Governor Sayed Alirahi and his wife Shazia visited our club on Friday, October 25th at the Larchmont Yacht Club. Sayed took over as the DG on July 1st of this year.  He was the charter president of the Rotary Club of Westchester, which recently chartered in 2020.  In that role, he directed the club's service events, trained new Rotarians and helped boost membership. He participated in the club's international service projects in the Dominican Republic and Pakistan. Prior to the Rotary Club of Westchester, he was a member of the Rotary Club of Elmsford, beginning in 2012.

We were privileged to host several guests as well, including Libby Hollahan, our area governor and County Executive George Latimer.

Following his introduction by Club President Lester Nathan, DG Alirahi spoke about Rotary, including its early history, organizational structure and the President's theme for 2024-25.  George Latimer followed his speech with the presentation of a certificate from Westchester County honoring his service.

The next two presentations were made by DG Alirahi to our club.  First, we received the Rotary banner for 2024-25, featuring pictures of IR President Stephanie A. Urchick and DG Alirahi, and this year's presidential theme: The Magic of Rotary.  Second, we received a picture frame with a Certificate of Appreciation on the front and a small Rotary banner on the back.

Finally, our club members present posed for a group shot with the district governor.  More pictures from this event can be viewed in a photo album on this site by clicking here.
