Our club was pleased to have District 7230 Membership Chairman Hugh Maynard-Reid as guest speaker at our January 26th luncheon meeting at the yacht club. It was a "motivational" presentation, one which was full of inspiration and high energy.

Mr. Maynard-Reid covered many topics and areas including: collaborating with the Toastmasters organization, making our meetings full of energy, the upcoming Day of Service (May 18th) and the formation of the Interact Club at Pelham High School. He stressed the need to be creative and provide leadership. Our guests need to get excited when they hear what Rotary does and is about.
Hugh handed out a lot of Rotary-related materials during his presentation. They included: Rotary Basics: a reference guide for members; The Four-Way Test; the Object of Rotary; Rotary = 3 + 3; the Transformation Butterfly; Identifying into which category a club falls; guidelines to service and serving; and last, but not least, copies of Know Your Rotary, now in its 7th edition. We now have the tools to move our club forward.
District Governor Russell concluded the meeting with a few remarks and several announcements.
